Job Description
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, plans, and building codes
- Determine the type and amount of material required for each project
- Use wood and other materials to build structures and forms to place concrete
- Safely operate hand and power tools with caution and precision
- Accurately measure and cut materials to the required specification
- Establish methods to meet deadlines and coordinate work activities with other departments
- Keep a clean and organized work environment
- Observe and follow all OSHA Standards
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- Applicants successful in the interview process will be asked to complete a pre-employment assessment as part of the final hiring process
- Minimum 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
- Available to work Monday Friday, occasional Saturday
- Day shift start time is between 7 am and 7 : 30 am
- Physically fit with the ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods
- Construction knowledge : how to build projects depicted
- Ability to read blueprints
- Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
- Outstanding critical thinking skills
- Good math and problem-solving skills
- Leadership skills are essential
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta
Assets
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program
- 3-5 years experience as a Carpenter
- Valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation
