EBCInc. is seeking Superintendents for work in Vancouver and the LowerMainland of British Columbia. As a member of our Civil team youwill provide insight and innovative construction solutions toensure the successful execution of various heavy civil projectswhich may include tunneling highways infrastructure earthworks andhydroelectricprojects.
Thecandidate will report directly to the Project Manager / GeneralSuperintendent and will be responsible for the entire completion ofconstructionprojects.
Asa Superintendent at EBC youwill :
- Provideleadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmoniousrelationships of the onsitestaff;
- Responsibleto have thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of thecontract documents each subcontract the contract drawingsspecifications and addenda and to assist the Project Manager in thedevelopment of the onsiteprocedures;
- AssistProject Manager and the development of the Project Schedule andwork with the Project Manager to keep schedules updates and ensurethe job meets the variousmilestones;
- Planand review the site construction program with the Project Managerincluding quality control procedures safety and environmentalprocedures staging plans equipment andmanpower;
- Coordinatedirect monitor and with the Field Engineer / Coordinator inspectactivities of the subcontractors suppliers and ownforces;
- Coordinatewith and direct when necessary the activities of the inspectionagencies and to effect remedial actions ifrequired;
- Establishand keep necessary communications between subcontractorsconsultants andclients;
- Chairweekly safety meetings and coordination meetings with own forcessubcontractors agencies andclients;
- Providedaily reports of work done and labour and material employed to theProjectManager;
- Reviewand approve all time cards subcontractor s monthly request forpayment material vouchers andinvoices;
- Maintaingood relations and communications with all involved in the projectincludingpublic.
Requirements
- Relatedjob experience of 5 years in construction supervision working onheavy civil constructionprojects;
- Advancedskills in management negotiation communication and problemsolving;
- Excellenttime management skills and ability to prioritizework;
- Knowledgeof office management systems and administrativeprocedures;
- Basicmath accounting and financeskills;
- Advancedskills in written and oral Englishlanguage.
