About the Role :
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a leading mining site in Saskatchewan, Alberta.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major player in the mining industry, focusing on optimizing mechanical systems and ensuring operational excellence at the site.
Key Responsibilities :
- Site Assessment and Inspection : Conduct regular inspections and assessments of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs : Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs or coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve complex mechanical problems promptly.
- Maintenance Planning : Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Technical Support : Provide on-site technical support and guidance to field personnel and ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards.
- Project Coordination : Assist in the planning and execution of mechanical upgrades, modifications, and new installations, ensuring they meet technical specifications and safety regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs. Prepare and present reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, and contribute to a culture of safety on site.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other engineering teams, operations staff, and contractors to ensure seamless integration and operation of mechanical systems.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Skills : Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on mechanical expertise, and proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Knowledge : In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices relevant to the mining industry.
- Certifications : Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Personal Attributes : Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
