Agilus is recruiting for a Project Director in the Construction industry in a hybrid work environment in Burlington, Ontario.
The Project Director monitors multiple projects / special projects and ensures these projects are managed and constructed in a fashion consistent with the Company values, policies and procedures.
Project safety, client satisfaction and the project’s financial performance are the Project Director’s responsibility. The Project Director will contribute to business development and to furthering the company’s ability to compete in the marketplace.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, update, distribute and manage estimates
- Review construction strategy and approach with estimators and Business Development personnel during the bidding and proposal process
- Manage schedule requirements and prepare contingency plans to address nonconformance issues for the Company and subcontractors
- Ensure projects are planned, scheduled and managed (including billing and collections) closely in order to achieve favorable financial results
- Monitor the financial status of assigned projects
- Ensure project risks are identified and actively managed. This includes safety, insurance, security, compliance with regulatory requirements, etc.
- Monitor construction progress in relation to percent of contract billed
Requirements :
- Post-Secondary degree / diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field and / or 10 years experience in operations within the construction industry
- Professional registration, P.Eng. and / or Gold Seal Certification in Project Management is an asset
- Experience in managing construction of industrial projects / Transit and Rail / Infrastructure / WTP and WWTP
- Advanced skills in MS Office products Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as Primavera, Prolog software an asset.
- Must have extensive knowledge of cost accounting / reporting systems and be able to recognize and correct cost overruns and compensate for estimating oversights
