Job Description

The Financial Accounting Systems, Analyst works with business system related projects as a key resource supporting G / L, Project accounting and Billing, which will vary in size, duration and complexity.

Using a variety of facilitation and interview techniques, the Financial Accounting Systems, Analyst will guide business stakeholders through the discovery, identification and documentation of business outcomes, process design, and business & functional requirements for new systems or functionality.

Note : This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy.

What you'll do

  • Serves as Functional analyst for the financial systems team in the implementation of Oracle Fusion G / L and Project Accounting modules.
  • Participates in business requirements workshops to understand business need to support gathering, review and validation of needs for the purpose of documenting and maintaining functional requirements.
  • Analyzes gaps in functional requirements to system capabilities to propose / recommend solutions and appropriate workarounds.
  • Develops artifacts such as Business Requirements Document, Functional Requirements, Technical Requirements, Process Flow Diagrams, Gap Analysis, and Use Cases to effectively convey requirements.
  • Collaborates with the other financial team member to monitoring the accuracy of integrations and reporting related to project accounting, billing, budget and forecasting area impacting projects.
  • Facilitates the chartering of new initiatives by working with business leaders to help them articulate their objectives and desired business outcomes, and to define scope.
  • Works with the business team to review and update business processes and advise our finance team on system services available within the Oracle product offerings that can support business requirements.
  • Identifies and communicate findings to our business teams on application testing and assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's Business, Commerce, a Finance / Accounting professional designation a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience working in as an accountant or as a BA supporting the finance functions in Oracle Financials (systems analyst, business analyst, design, application development and / or technical support) with proven ability to lead a business team through a process and systems change.
  • Preferred experience with 1 end to end Oracle Cloud ERP implementation.
  • Experience using or supporting Oracle Project Accounting and Billing with some experience in at least three of the following Oracle Cloud Financials modules.
  • General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Expenses, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Management, Cash Management, Fixed Assets.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle SCM modules such as Procurement and Inventory from a financials perspective is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, reports and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts.
  • A detailed understanding of how business works, and continually develops business acumen through learning and training.
  • Proven skills in the development of business requirements, functional requirements, technical requirements, process flows, gap analyses and use cases.

Formal methodology training in these areas is an asset.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Preferable experience with JD Edwards. Advance Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with diverse personalities and be a team player.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

The estimated salary for this position is $99,000 - $121,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.

The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
