About the Client

Our client is sourcing an Assistant Controller for a 12-month contract.

About the Opportunity

• Oversee accurate accounting and financial reporting for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with IFRS and reporting to the parent
• Ensure monthly accounting cycles and corporate reporting deadlines are consistently met
• Drive operational excellence by streamlining processes, improving workflow efficiency, and redesigning systems to shorten reporting cycles
• Serve as the primary liaison with auditors
• Ensure internal controls are effectively designed and functioning properly
• Offer guidance and support on accounting matters to business unit teams across the country
• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and filing of all taxes (income and indirect) for the company and its subsidiaries
• Act as the liaison with internal and external tax experts, consultants, and government agencies

About You

• 5-10 years of Life insurance, hands-on day-to-day financial reporting
• Exposure to Canadian tax
• CPA or similar designation
• Multiview experience is an asset but not required
• French speaking is an asset but not required
