Test Engineer

Can-Tech Services is looking for a Test Engineer for one of our reputable Automotive Manufacturing clients in the Vaughan area.

Our client develops customized high-performance HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery in construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, material handling and utility vehicle industries, making the driest or wettest surroundings and the most extreme hot or cold weather unnoticeable.

Their premium products are relied upon to provide a comfortable climate, exceeding our customers’ expectations.

The position is a Full-Time and Permanent Position directly with the client.

The rate of pay is between $70,000 - $100,000 per year (depending on experience).

Shift :

Monday to Friday, Office Hours, Day Shift (8am - 4.30pm).

Key Responsibilities :

• Clear understanding of HVAC systems, Sensors, Transducers, Data Acquisition.
• Plan efficient use of resources and equipment in the Testing facility.
• Develop and execute including documenting detailed test plans, design validation plans and work instruction.
• Develop programs using PLC & Labview.
• Test systems and components. Operate and maintain lab equipment, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems.
• Install equipment / system / component and hook up instrumentation as required. Ensure all the details have been implemented and test set up is compiled with the applicable standard and plan.
• Perform system performance, air flow, noise, vibration or any other physical tests with clear understanding of the parameters, measurement methods, limitations, test plans, best practices, codes and standards.
• Calibrate equipment / sensors and work with outside calibration laboratories to perform necessary calibration.
• Data collection, analysis and report, focusing on accuracy and completeness of the scope of the project / application.
• Analyze collected test results and ascertain their validity to propose ideas for change / modify / improve the product.

Coordinate with the design and prototype team to ensure suggested ideas have properly been implemented on product.

Practice safety at the workplace & train others for safe work practice.

Qualifications :

Formal Training or Qualifications :

• Degree / Diploma / Certificate, etc. based training / education in Trade / Vocational, Secondary or Post-Secondary Institutions.
• Degree / Diploma in Engineering Sciences, HVAC, Control, Instrumentation & Programming Focus.

Professional Designations :

P.Eng, MBA, CQE, CQM, CPP, etc.

Function Specific Qualifications :

• Specific technical / functional skills required to complete tasks. May include elements of communication, leadership & management skills if applicable.
• Goal oriented, self-starter, team player, attention to detail, independent and strategic thinker. Ability to work on multiple projects often within strict timelines.

Professional Experience :

1-3 years in the same or similar position.
