About the Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation
The Teaching and Learning Centre of Innovation (TLCI) at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology serves students, faculty and staff in the following areas : Accessibility Services and Student Academic Support, Learning Commons (including the Library and Service Desk), Educational Development (including program and curriculum support, instructional support, professional development, Work Integrated Learning academic support, and Research and Scholarly Activity), Moodle and Google training and support, The Studio video production services, and the MakerSpace.
The Opportunity - Contract Tutor, Animal Health programs
A contract opportunity is available to tutor Olds College students in person in the Olds College Learning Commons (library).
Hours vary according to subject and student needs. Applicants must be prepared to work flexible hours, which may include days and / or evenings.
The tutor(s) will facilitate student learning in both one-on-one and small group settings. Preference will be given to those individuals with familiarity with Olds College Animal Health programming.
Responsibilities also include data recording / reporting as assigned. Tutor / s will report to the Manager, Student Experience and Educational Design, but may be required to communicate and collaborate with instructors as needed.
The ideal candidate possesses RVT certification and tutoring / teaching experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Strong interpersonal skills, as well as time management skills and a willingness to learn and grow professionally are considered assets.
The candidate must be an effective communicator comfortable working with diverse populations (including those for whom English is a second language).
Enthusiasm for integrating technology into learning strategies is desirable; successful candidates will be proficient in both MS Office and the Google suite of apps.
