Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Interpro safety policies
- Manage all safety functions within assigned regional operations, maintaining consistent standards across all sites
- Review, update, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and compliance
- Develop and deliver safety training programs, including classroom and on-the-job instruction
- Provide technical and administrative support to Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) and safety teams
- Conduct and lead incident investigations, performing detailed root cause analyses and developing corrective action plans
- Create and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote safe work practices
- Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in safety performance
Requirements
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related fieldCanadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation (active or in progress)Minimum 5 years of experience in safety program management, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environmentDemonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and training program developmentStrong understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS), principles, and best practicesKnowledge of Certificate of Recognition (COR) programs and auditing processesProven experience using Root Cause Analysis tools (e.g., TapRoot, SCAT)Comprehensive understanding of federal and provincial safety legislation and compliance requirementsMechanically inclined, with the ability to assess and recommend improvements for equipment and process safetyBenefits
