The Financial Analyst Position within the Group is responsible for overall financial support, financial reporting and audit support requirements of one or more plants, reporting directly to the Controller.
We are looking for an individual to add value to our Plant Finance Team. This successful candidate will be able to advance from this role given good performance and initiative.
Job Overview
Key purpose of the position is to provide support for financial accounting processes and month-end procedures. The successful candidate will have broad ranging responsibilities including assisting in the monthly / quarterly / annually closing processes and will provide support in a LEAN business environment to the Finance department including Cost Deployment Analysis and Focused Improvement activities.
Major Activities : Position Responsibilities
- Complete month end close activities including posting journal entries and adjustments for reallocation of expenses between manufacturing sites
- Provide analytical support during the annual budgeting process including liaising with departmental managers to prepare budget submissions, analyzing expenses, identifying cost-saving and value-enhancing initiatives, and monitoring Key Performance Indicators
KPIs)
- Work with the finance team to analyze financial statements as well as account detail to identify and explain budget variances on a monthly basis
- Account analysis and reconciliation
- Reconciliation and collection of intercompany payable and receivable accounts
- Update Fixed Asset listing monthly for all sites including reconciling sub-ledger expense accounts to General Ledger and tagging of fixed assets on the shop floor.
- Fixed Asset Reporting for external Audit
- Assist in weekly and monthly corporate reporting activities and forecasting
- Preparation and distribution of month end financial reports
- Comply with the facility’s LEAN principles in order to meet the established targets and objectives.
- Coordinate improvement activities with other department managers and area supervisors
- Develop data management systems to monitor, control and improve process
Job Requirements
Technical knowledge, skills and abilities :
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with strong ability to summarize and present conclusions in a concise, conceptual manner
- Ability to liaise with various functional departments and build effective relationships
- Demonstrate initiative and the need to drive improvements and work with colleagues on a multitude of issues and processes

Qualifications :
- University degree with a business or finance / accounting focus
- Professional accounting designation
CMA / CGA / CPA) or in the process of completing
- 3-5 years in manufacturing / service environment with 2-3 years specifically in reporting and forecasting
- Demonstrated initiative, high motivation and independent problem solving skills with the ability to create and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to engage others, provide guidance, leadership and facilitate problem solving at all levels
- Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office software including analytical proficiency in advanced Excel and Powerpoint
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
