You will oversee financial modeling on multiple financial products and measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans in this role.
Your other duties will include advising management on the allocation of resources to best achieve objectives and preparing reports for management.
You will be a part of a dynamic team being a key business partner in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management.
This Financial Analyst role, which is a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity, is based in the Toronto, Ontario, area.
We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated competency in financial analysis.
What you get to do every single day
- Ideal candidate would have an adaptable nature and experience dealing with vast amounts of information while exceeding expectations
- Operate with key senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as : Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
- Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans
- Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
- Complete and direct forecasting reports
- Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
- Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Study performance to date and examine potential risks and opportunities
- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Keep up weekly, quarterly and annual Area / Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
- Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources
Job Requirements :
- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience ideal)
- Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions
- BA / BS degree in finance or a related field
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus
- Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
