Business Planning & Risk Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Business Strategies, the Business Planning & Risk Analyst supports the achievement of the strategic vision by providing strategic and tactical planning services, implementing measurements, and reporting mechanisms to demonstrate the branch’s achievement of strategic goals and objectives.
He / she / they facilitates development of the branch’s strategic plans, business cases, benefits realization framework, risk assessments and performance reporting.
The position is also responsible for assessing performance gaps and identifying corrective actions to ensure the branch meets its goals.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business administration or other related fields.
- Considerable progressive experience in business planning, business case development and business performance measurement.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Considerable knowledge of business planning, business performance measurement and implementation
- Extensive knowledge of running data analysis, cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments, building business cases and business models, and conducting feasibility studies
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and relevant software
- Ability to learn and understand the Commission’s mandate, programs, operating requirements, and strategic priorities
- Ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with matters of a confidential nature
- Ability to assess business performance and develop and present solutions to improve results
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish goals
- Ability to utilize judgment in presenting issues, and provide advice and influence in facilitating appropriate courses of action
- Ability to excel in working under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities
