AdvoTek Recruitment is sourcing a contract Project Manager for a 6-month contract with extensions with 5+ years’ experience for our trusted client’s PMO.

The client, a financial services firm located in midtown Toronto, has a solid history of continued customer success and increased technology innovation within finance, Investment, and Insurance.

Our client is offering a competitive hourly rate with 40 hours a week and currently hybrid with an expectation of 2 days in the office (preferred is Wed / Thursday) in midtown Toronto - (not on the main TTC LINE)The Project Manager will work collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders, executive steering committees, and 3rd party development vendors to manage a range of projects that are servicing Applications, Infrastructure, and Implementation’s typically in the 300K to 4-million-dollar range for the Insurance and Financial services industry.

Accountabilities will include but not be limited to : Plan, manage and successfully oversee the implementation of multiple projects in parallel.

Manage project teams and stakeholders to ensure project completion is on time, on budget and within scope. This includes the development and management of detailed plans, work breakdown structures, schedule, and budget.

Identify and assess risks, severity, and impacts. Determine and implement risk strategies and communicate risks to client and stakeholders as appropriate.

Closely monitor project financials, follow-up on issues and provide regular status updates to management and stakeholdersThe contract Project Manager’s ideal profileMinimum 5 years of experience in a Project Management role with proven track record of successfully delivering various business and IT project sizes and types.

At least 2 years delivering multiple Projects in Agile environment, with some Waterfall experience as well, we are just starting to really get our Agile on but it’s not quite there yet!Application Development project management experience with an outsourced development team or 3rd party vendors.

Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff from CEO, SVP’s and VPs to managers and other staff.Sound judgment and decision-making skills to act effectively in resolving issues as they arise.

Excellent communication skills including strong presentation / communication / facilitation skills (verbal and written).Substantial experience and expertise with the use of Project Planning software, such as Microsoft Project, Visio, Azure DevOps / JIRA, and Office 365.AdvoTek Recruitment Inc
