We are searching for a Harness Apprentice on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.
Role :
The Apprentice position is focused on training and learning the trade, as well as developing technical skills. Training will be a combination of theory and practical on-the-job training.
Under the supervision of experienced assemblers, the Harness Assembler Apprentice performs the assembly of harnesses. In addition, the apprentice may be required to perform the duties of a production and general helper.
Level of responsibility : Well-established work procedures and tasks. Some decisions taken independently, based on the selection of some procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Crimp contacts and perform wire pull tests.
- Terminate connectors (D-Sub / HD).
- Prepare cables and wires.
- Make harnesses.
- Mechanically assemble connectors and backshells.
- Tin components.
- Prepare, handle, and use polymer products for bonding components.
- Any other related duties.
Minimum Qualifications Required :
- Reading of drawings.
- Knowledge of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system.
- Use of production databases.
- Good knowledge of French.
- Fine manual dexterity.
- Education : Asset - Secondary school vocational diploma in a relevant field.
- Experience : None to two (2) years of experience required.
- Linguistic Level : Good knowledge of French. Basic knowledge of English is an asset.

Comments / Special Considerations :
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
