We are looking for a Solution Architect for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Regina, Saskatchewan . Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Hybrid schedule, at least 3 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.
Role Description
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing technology that aligns with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge paired with an understanding of business and ensure solutions to business requirements and technology are well architected, cost effective, and adaptable to changing business needs. You will play a crucial role in supporting the development of solution architecture, detailed design, development, and operational support of system infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Create or arrange creation of reusable system design components, including project solution architecture models for procurement and for build.
- Implement and manage technical quality control processes and ensure work delivered is tested adequately with sign‑off.
- Apply sound knowledge of interface / API mapping with legacy and third‑party applications.
- Analyze and assess existing data management systems, processes, and technologies to identify improvement areas and develop recommendations that provide direct business value.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep the organization at the forefront of data innovation.
- Conduct current state assessment and inventory of network, servers, storage, backup, and data centre assets.
- Define target solution architecture for procured and constructed solutions.
- Report on future recommendations, including budgetary information.
- Contribute to concept, methodology, component definition, and improvement initiatives.
- Advise on industry directions and best practices.
- Document the current ICT environment and future architecture strategy (1‑5 years).
- Develop strategies for data placement and sharing in enterprise‑wide IT infrastructure initiatives involving significant business re‑engineering, legacy systems, commercial off‑the‑shelf solutions, etc.
- Lead or facilitate development of logical analysis and design‑level IT infrastructure architecture artefacts as required.
- Lead or facilitate development of collaborative, enterprise, or program / line‑of‑business taxonomies.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred.TOGAF certification.MS Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) certification is an asset.5 years experience with VB.NET.6 years experience with Enterprise Service Bus technologies.Experience developing or maintaining a .NET class library.Solid understanding of SOA‑oriented design principles.Solid understanding of application vulnerabilities and countermeasures.Experience producing secure, high‑quality code.Ability to work with a team and independently to complete deliverables within established timelines.Demonstrated expertise in developing leading‑edge enterprise solutions using the latest Microsoft .NET Framework.Knowledge of SQL stored procedures (Transact‑SQL).Knowledge of Entity Frameworks.Knowledge of SQL Reporting Services.Experience developing or maintaining Java or .NET integration patterns.Broad understanding and experience with SAP, TIBCO, Oracle, and Microsoft technologies.Please note that while all applications are appreciated, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
