Patron Career Staffing is hiring for a Payroll and Logistics Analyst in Halton Hills, ON.
Responsibilities :
- Processes payroll, and retroactive payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and CRA rules and regulations.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department / division transfers.
- Responsible for the review of employee information in Payroll / scheduling system and validation of the information for data integrity purposes.
- Processes payroll related entries for leave of absence, maternity leave, unpaid payroll adjustments.
- Processes hires, transfers and terminations, including preparation of Record of Employments (ROEs).
- Provides timely and proactive communication regarding payroll to all levels of staff, government agencies and / or private organizations as and when required.
- Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
- Responsible for providing and analyzing payroll related matter reports.
- Prepares month-end reporting including provisions of journal entries for Finance and Payroll remittances and reconciliations.
- Reconciles, analyses and balances all year-end data for T, TA purposes, GL Accounts, Employer Health Tax, Canada Revenue Agency and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board requirements etc.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Helps with internal and external audits related to payroll.
- Maintains detailed records and documentation of payroll transactions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Support benefits program (Sunlife & Manulife) for SDSCA, enrolling and terminating employees
- Support miscellaneous correspondence, reports, and complete other daily responsibilities as directed by site HR Lead
Requirements / Qualifications :
Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in human resources, finance, accounting or related stream with minimum years' work experience in
payroll function or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) designation or another formal payroll training would be an asset.
- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now would be preferred.
- Progressive payroll experience in a multi-province payroll environment would be an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with payroll administration, accounting, and legislation.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must be highly customer-focused to deliver timely service to all levels of organization.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
