A Mining Engineer Co-Op / Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to projects focused on improving mining conditions and economics.

May 13 up to Dec. 20, 2024

Full time Co-Op / Internship. 36-40 hrs a week on site.

What you’ll do?

Day to day work assignments could include :

• Assignments will involve learning all aspects of working at a site including Mine Planning, Mine Ventilation, Operations Optimization, Quality Control, Maintenance, Safety, Mapping and more
• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, mine operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors
• Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
• Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What you’ll need :

• Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Geology or Mining, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2.75 GPA or higher
• For Louisiana ONLY : TWIC Card or ability to get a TWIC card.
• Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
• 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student / school organizations, or work is required
• Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and / or office.
• Basic computer skills are required
• Experience working in a team environment is a must
• Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
• Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
• Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
