Our client is a leading financial services company based in Vancouver that is embarking on a significant software modernization initiative.
They are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Scrum Master to join their Enterprise Delivery team to lead this transformative multi-year project.
Job Overview :
The Project Manager / Scrum Master will be responsible for leading and managing the software modernization initiative, ensuring its successful delivery in alignment with strategic business objectives.
This role requires a deep understanding of both traditional project management and Agile Scrum methodologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive change within a complex organizational environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Leadership :
- Lead the software modernization initiative from inception through delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance structures.
Scrum Master Responsibilities :
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
- Mentor and coach team members on Agile principles and practices.
- Remove obstacles and ensure the team has the resources needed to meet their sprint goals.
Stakeholder Management :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for project objectives and deliverables.
Team Coordination :
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence.
- Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that impede team progress.
Risk and Issue Management :
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues and effective communication of risks to stakeholders.
Project Delivery Improvement :
- Drive improvements in project delivery methodologies and processes.
- Implement best practices for project management and Agile Scrum, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the Enterprise Portfolio team.
- Measure and report on project performance, using data to inform continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and Scrum Master roles, with a proven track record of leading complex software development projects.
Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
Skills :
- Strong knowledge of project management and Agile Scrum methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and familiarity with Temenos Banking Solutions (or similar products) is a must have.
