GIS Data Analyst for provincial government agency client, North York.

Initial Term : April 29, 2024 to November 29, 2024.
Compensation : From $35 per hour to $45 per hour, according to experience.

Regular Work Hours : FULL TIME WORK HOURS 7.25 work hours per day, not including unpaid .75 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location : 100% onsite at Client's North York office, free parking provided; 10-minute walk from nearest TTC bus stop.
Responsibilities Summary :
To develop, maintain, and prepare data and products for provincial registry, implement projects related to register applications, and operate various register processes and services.
- Utilizing GIS and database software, maintain register data regarding addresses, districts and zones, municipal areas and divisions, parcels, places, streets, and postal codes in Ontario.
- Perform quality control checks on register data, validate and make corrections on an on-going basis, while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and security.
- Work with analysts to implement, execute, and refine data matching and data processing rules, scripts and programs for bulk loads, individual registration, and other maintenance activities.
- Participate in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing for projects and changes impacting applications and systems used by the register business unit.
- Generate, distribute, and track register and list products to stakeholders.
- Participate in various HQ activities for the delivery of significant projects and events.
- Additional GIS data analysis responsibilities as required.
Qualifications :
Education : Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Geography / GIS, Computer / Data Science, or applicable combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Work Experience : At least 4+ years of professional GIS experience.
Preferred Sector Experience : Public Sector experience an asset.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements :
- 4+ years professional experience using ESRI tools like ArcGIS PRO, ArcGIS Online, ArcMap.
- Strong, hands-on experience programming with SQL in a SQL Server environment.
- Familiarity with Jira an asset.
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and professional verbal presentation skills suitable for a range of audiences.
