Job Description
Our client is seeking a GIS Analyst to join their team! Key Details :
- Contract Length : 7 months.
- Hours : 7.25 hours / day
- Location : ONSITE - 5 days / week in Scarborough, Ontario
Roles and Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Manager, Information Management and under the guidance of the Senior Information Analyst, you will : Use a computer workstation, GIS and database software, and other related technologies to maintain register data regarding electors, addresses, electoral districts and polls, municipal wards and subdivisions, parcels, places, streets, postal codes in Ontario.
Perform quality control checks on register data, validate and make corrections on an on-going basis, while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and security.
Work with analysts to implement, execute, and refine data matching and data processing rules, scripts and programs for bulk loads, elector registration, and other maintenance activities.
Participate in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing for projects and changes impacting applications and systems used by the register business unit.
Generate, distribute, and track register and list products to electoral stakeholders. Participate in various HQ activities for the delivery of provincial by-elections.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Post-Secondary degree / diploma in Geography / GIS, Computer / Data Science, or related field discipline.
- 4+ years professional GIS experience using ESRI tools like ArcGIS PRO, ArcGIS Online, ArcMap.
- Strong, hands-on experience programming with SQL in a SQL Server environment. Good understanding of database concepts and data processing.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle, including business requirements gathering, documentation, and testing.
Experience with Jira considered an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
