Responsibilities
- Address all technical service requests from clients by providing both remote and on-site technical support during the day as well as after hours, including weekends, as required and scheduled.
- Provide on-site technical field support for the primary product lines, including installation, commissioning, training, certification, troubleshooting, client demonstrations, product testing, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), equipment evaluations, and offer service department products to customers.
- Assist in sourcing, providing, and integrating new solutions for customers and their equipment, including light fabrication work if needed.
- Generate technical, training, and instructional documents as required, including but not limited to schematics, mechanical sketches / diagrams, training manuals, presentations, etc.
- Work safely and professionally at all times.
- Effectively communicate with the team, external partners, and customers.
- Complete all required service report information within 72 hours of a site visit.
- Travel as needed across Canada, and in the future to the U.S. and internationally for training and customer service purposes.
- Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
College or technical education in electromechanical and pneumatic systems and / or equivalent experience in electronics / electrical;
experience in secondary disciplines is highly valued.
For instance, for someone trained in mechanics, electrical / electronic experience is useful.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Light fabrication skills; welding is an asset.
- PLC programming experience, particularly with Allen-Bradley and B&R Automation.
- Familiarity with servo drives.
- Knowledge of computer networking (TCP / IP) is an asset.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle in good working condition. and valid passport for potential future international work.
- Excellent customer relations, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and independently at client sites.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and self-educate using provided resources.
- Willingness to travel, often on short notice.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to innovate, plan, and implement technical solutions on-site.
- Flexibility with schedule (early starts, long days, and / or weekends).
- Must have a reliable vehicle for travel.
