Who are we looking for?

Our Engineering Design Organization is looking for an Intermediate Design and Drafting Technologist ready to join one of our Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver offices.

In this role, you will be part of the Engineering Design Drafting team working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and other Designers from multiple design lines.

This role will support projects in all of our Markets, including Water (Water / Wastewater Treatment, Linear Water, Water resources), Energy and Resources, Environmental (Solid Waste, Landfill, Contaminated Sites and Remediation), and Transportation.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :

• Responsible for preparing and drawing preliminary to detailed design drawings under the direction of project / design manager
• Ensure drawings meet specifications and standards
• Implement QA / QC processes for project work
• Developing Site Plans, Profiles, Sections and Details for multiple disciplines
• Developing civil 3D models using modeling software such as Civil 3D.
• Processing survey and LiDAR point clouds
• Developing hydrological, hydrogeological and geotechnical figures and sketches
• Providing cut / fill volumes and material take-offs
• Assisting in general engineering support during construction and as-building project phases, as needed
• Attending project meetings as required

What you will bring to the team :

• Must have successfully completed a relevant degree or diploma at an accredited polytechnic, college or university;
• Minimum 5 years of design and drafting experience;
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D is a must;
• Experience with waste facilities (. landfills, transfer stations, compost facilities), industrial facilities, civil grading and drainage, piping and utilities;
• Experience with Infraworks, ReCAD and Navisworks would be considered an asset;
• Experience with Microstation would be considered an asset;
• Experience with Revit would be considered an asset;
• Positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent organization and time management skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication;
• Experience with transportation design would be considered an asset;
• Experience with ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) would be considered an asset;
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary design projects would be considered an asset;
• Experience in consulting would be considered an asset;
• Professional membership / eligibility would be considered an asset.
