Intermediate / Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist

We are a firm of environmental scientists and engineers with multi-disciplinary expertise in water quality / aquatic chemistry, geochemistry, aquatic biology, aquatic ecology, aquatic toxicology, hydrogeology, hydrodynamic mixing, permitting and environmental statistics.
Our offices are located in Georgetown, Toronto, and Guelph, ON, Saskatoon, SK, and Sparwood and Victoria, BC. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Intermediate / Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our growing permitting group.
The Intermediate / Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, assisting with and supporting small- to medium-sized environmental permitting projects for mine sites located across Canada.
- Project responsibilities will include : the preparation of environmental permitting applications and compliance reports;
- organization, analysis, and interpretation of surface water and groundwater monitoring data; participation in technical meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholder / rightsholder groups;
assisting senior scientists with proposal preparation and components of larger projects. The position will be subject to mentoring and supervision by senior Minnow experts.
The successful candidate will have consulting and project management skills, exceptional organizational skills, critical thinking skills, an eye for detail, strong communication skills, excellent technical writing skills, and proficient knowledge of software applications including MS Word and MS Excel.
Knowledge of federal, provincial, and territorial environmental legislation, experience in conceptual design of water balances and wastewater management plans, and water quality data interpretation, as well as professional accreditation (P.
Eng. or P.Geo) or eligibility for professional accreditation would be considered assets. A degree in environmental science or engineering is required, together with 5+ to 10+ years of relevant technical work experience.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and must be willing to travel.
