We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter Apprentice (3rd / 4th Year) to join the Buildings group at one of the various projects in Edmonton, AB .

Shifts are 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours / weekends / or possible afternoon & night shift) if site requires.

Responsibilities

• Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
• Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
• Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
• Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
• Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
• Look for, and fix deficiencies
• Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
• Studies blueprints for work planning
• Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and / or takes appropriate measures
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• General site upkeep
