Solutions Engineer, Supply Chain
Description
As a Solutions Engineer, you will drive continuous improvement culture across all our Canadian Distribution Centers. Assist with the implementation of key initiatives to improve safety, ergonomics, productivity, efficiencies, capacity management, and cost reductions within supply chain team.
The incumbent will lead all industrial engineering efforts including network design, warehouse reconfiguration initiatives, e-Comm fulfillment processes, WMS / TMS / ERP optimization, warehouse technology improvements, labour standards and productivity reporting, process improvements, and other engineering duties.
The incumbent will work closely with Distribution Center leadership as well as Operations, Transportation, Inventory Control, HR, Planning & Merchandising, Safety, and Information Technology teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support the design and implementation of warehouse automation to improve operation efficiencyAnalyze current business processes to improve on effectiveness, quality, and simplification of business operations using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Independently identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement.Capture internal requirements and establish the associated specification.
Gather and analyze operations and financial data for business case development, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and / or forecast expected results of process changes.
Assist with warehouse engineering such as product slotting, distribution center MHE solutions, studying labor standards (time studies), distribution center layouts and optimization of flow, headcount rationalization and forecasting, WMS functionality.
Meet with vendors, analyze proposals, and make recommendations on the solution choices to improve operational effectiveness.
Participate in conceptual process designs and develop management communication presentations that support solution design and vendor selection.
Work on-site and remotely during project stages, system installation, user acceptance testing, go live support, modifications, and maintenance.
Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports.Facilitate user training and SOP creation / modification where necessary.
Monitor and measure the benefits of post process implementation to ensure product quality, efficiency, and improvement.Assist in the continuous improvement of departmental engineering methods.

Competencies
Experience in design, implementation or operation of warehouse automation solutions goods to person (GTP) and order fulfillmentExperience in development and implementation of Labour Management System using Manhattan softwareExperience in presenting complex ideas clearly, manage the complexities of integrating new processes and to influence individuals across business boundaries to achieve objectives.
Experience in Supply Chain processes in distribution, warehousing, ecommerce fulfillment and transportation with an aptitude to learn new processes and systems.
Experience in Voice Picking, RF, and barcode technologies.Experience within WMS, ERP, TMS, YMS, and WCS systems is a mustExperience with Manhattan Active WM and Microsoft Dynamics NAV an asset.
Experience working with teams with skills and the ability to work with cross functional departments.Experience training and mentoring associates at different level is an assetExperience with data analysis, process improvement projects, and workflow analysis.
Experience with slotting optimization and warehouse layout designs.Experience in using AutoCad software or similar to design and proposed solutions.
Experience in implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Green Belt Certification an asset
Experience, Education, Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related experience.3-5 years’ experience in a distribution or warehousing environment.
3-5 years technical experience working with supply chain products / systems including WMS, TMS, OMS, WCS, and ERP.Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Visio skills an asset.
Possesses an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Must be able to travel to distribution centers in GTA as well as out of province, including meeting federal COVID-19 requirements for interprovincial flights.
Working Conditions
Primarily Monday to Friday Days but must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, nights and weekends as needed.
Be able to work in a warehouse and office environment.Able & willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
