Job Purpose

The Account Director leads the strategic client management for their set of client accounts, delivering on revenue targets and growing the portfolio of business.

They manage the Client Services team for your accounts and is accountable for the quality of all work delivered to clients.

The Account Director is responsible for the strength of the client partnerships and the standard of service being delivered to their clients, ensuring the work meets the client’s needs and achieves their core business goals.

The Account Director works with their team to develop client relationships, profitability, directs account plans, and works closely with the senior and executive members of the client teams to drive value in the partnership and alignment of priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounts / Client Relationship

  • Leads multiple client accounts to deliver the highest quality standards, with a deep understanding of their market and business goals, with overall responsibility for the client-agency relationship.
  • Develops and / or approves and improves account plans for their book of clients, driving opportunities to cross / up-sell Noise services and proactively seeks ways to strengthen our relationships.
  • Creates and maintains valued relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Analyses briefs for qualification and alignment into business plan, and directs the strategic development of work, presenting and selling through effectively to clients.
  • Reviews major client deliverables for quality measures and KPIs.
  • Contributes to the development of strong, confident relationships with clients, and foster client relationships with other team members.
  • Performs client satisfaction reviews, quality calls and check-ins.
  • Composes and applies strategic insight into client strategy, business planning and consumer trends, where applicable.
  • Acts as point of escalation for client quality or performance issues.
  • Participates in key client meetings, such as QBRs.
  • Contributes to new business pitches
  • Works closely with media and strategy account leads to review campaign insights reporting, analysis and research to understand client goals and performance metrics.
  • Works with Account Managers to anticipates client issues and proactively resolves client challenges.
  • Maintains a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting their accounts, and developments in the wider advertising and media industry.

Finance / Administration / Operations

  • Manages the work, performance and professional development of their team members.
  • Contract (MSA and SOW) negotiation.
  • Reviews billings, revenue and forecast reports for all accounts, ensures targets are being met.
  • Reports key financial data and profitability to Director of Client Services and Director of Finance, with detailed rationale as to any key changes from forecast.
  • Works with internal teams to develop innovative and strategic initiatives through each stage of work.
  • Works with other Account Directors to maintain culture of learning and development across accounts / specialisms.
  • Enters all project hours into the appropriate docket timesheet, including notes and ensures timesheets are submitted by end-of-day Friday.
  • Strong business acumen, able to spot ways in which to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective and cooperative relationships with a wide array of personalities and team members.

Displays conscientiousness and service towards others.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience working in a professional media, marketing, advertising, and / or digital agency.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a relevant field (business, communications, marketing, media, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and influence clients at senior levels of a business.
  • Experience leading and managing direct reports.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects / deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Client contract management (writing and reviewing)
  • Ability to comprehend financial documentation, including the ability to understand budgets and forecasts within the context of client projects and campaigns.
  • Intermediate computer and digital literacy skills (Microsoft Windows / Apple OSX, Microsoft Office, Google Analytics).
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced verbal / written skills.

The compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 to $110,000 per year.
