Job Responsibilities
The Planner shall serve as a working technical professional in the area of PM Planning and Scheduling and shall be the primary contact for all related activities / issues at their respective site.
They shall be responsible for resolving scheduling / planning conflicts with all stakeholders including but not limited to Production, FD, R&D.
- The Planner shall be responsible for negotiating time to execute corrective notification and shall prioritize same.
- The Planner shall be responsible for ensuring materials required for PM are available and prepared prior to planning activities.
This shall be accomplished through relationships, both formal and informal, with the personnel operating the Central Stores.
The Planner shall review the proposed plan each week with the Supervisors for the purpose of assigning work to the Trades.
This shall be communicated to all affected groups and other Planners to ensure full alignment of the business with the plan.
The goal being to achieve minimal downtime.
The Planner shall be responsible for maintaining documented visibility of all aspects of the PM planning system including, but not limited to;
overall performance of the team to deliver the plan, backlog, completion rates, excursions, exceptions, opportunities for improvement and other performance metrics as deemed appropriate to effectively measure and improve the system.
The Planner shall be responsible for the evolution of the Task List associated with PM. This shall be accomplished through liaison with Reliability Engineering, Deviation Investigators and other Subject Matter Experts as required to improve the overall Reliability of our systems and equipment.
This shall include but not be limited to recommendations of new technologies or techniques.
- The Planner shall participate in the development of Total Life-cycle Management for all assets. The outcome of these discussions will be recommendations to the business for replacement / retirement of assets based on the Data maintained by Reliability, Investigations and Subject Matter Experts.
- The Planner shall endeavor to develop working relationships with his peers in Production Planning, Supply Chain and New Product Launch in order to maintain a broad perspective of approaching challenges related to equipment Reliability.
- As a Professional, the Planner shall be responsible to ensure their own Professional development in cooperation and consultation with Management.
- The Planner shall participate in any and all new Capital Engineering efforts to ensure seamless integration into the PM system.
- Works closely with the SAP PM Master Data Maintainer to update SAP master data and responds to queries to internal clients with respect to PM Planning.
- Recommend improvements to technology to enhance compliance and effectiveness including cost savings.
- Act as a back-up to Project Leader, Reliability.
- Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
- Performs all work in support of our Corporate Values of Pride, Accountability, Integrity, and Diligence; Demonstrates strong and visible support of our values.
- Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- College Diploma in Engineering Discipline, Tradesperson, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience preferably in the pharmaceutical (or similarly regulated) industry is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communications skills are essential.
- Previous experience with SAP software PM Module is essential.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
