What we are looking for :
The York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program is administered by Oak Valley Health (OVH).We provide a coordinated community based speech and language service for children, birth to Junior Kindergarten program engages in collaborative service delivery with other community agencies such as Early Intervention Services, the Children’s Treatment Network and the York-Simcoe Autism Network (YSAN).
Flexibility to provide services across York Region and in a variety of settings (e.g., clinic, child care centres, entry to school programs, virtual) is required.
Responsibilities include :
- carrying a caseload of children under the supervision of Speech Language Pathologists
- providing group and paired therapy
- supporting families on our wait list through phone calls and evening workshops
- home and child care consultation visits
- providing consultative support to Entry to School Programs offered through YSAN
- position will include supporting children with special needs
- ability to offer services in more than one language is highly preferred
- preparation work - including boardmaker material, parent education material and therapy materials
- general office support
- Current position may include providing virtual and in-person services
What you bring to the role :
Communicative Disorders Assistant DiplomaPrevious experience with children with special needsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the teamExcellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skillsDemonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standardDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.
by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Compensation :
Salary Grid : YRSLP03 :
$30.6 - $36.56 per hour
Location : Various locations throughout York can change based on program needs.
