Accountant

Position : Accountant (fully on-site)

Location : Burlington (Burlington / Oakville border)

Salary : up to $95k + vacation, bonus, and fully paid benefits.

Position Overview :

The Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Property Accountants to handle the accounting, reporting, and daily operations of real estate properties.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting experience, be pursuing a CPA designation, and demonstrate a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

This position requires working fully on-site, so being located in the west end of the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton) would be preferred.

Responsibilities :

• Process daily deposits and maintain tenant ledgers
• Prepare and analyze A / R aging reports
• Calculate and distribute interest on last month's deposits
• Set up and monitor pre-authorized rent payments
• Reconcile daily bank activity and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare HST remittance for each property
• Assist in the preparation of monthly Financial Statements
• Assist in annual budget preparation for properties
• Review monthly property packages and forecasts for accuracy
• Prepare month-end journal entries for receivables and revenue

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in accounting-related field
• Must have CPA or enrolled in CPA designation
• 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience (real estate or property management preferred)
• Comfortable working fully on-site (5 days per week)
