Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Director

This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.

Mission

As the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Director for the Project, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper application of quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) standards within the organization.

You will ensure the company's QHSE policy is followed and implement the necessary measures to ensure the proper functioning of activities and services.

Responsibilities

  • Functionally coordinating Operational Unit Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Director to define project QHSE plans, monitoring their implementation and development, also guaranteeing that corporate QHSE initiatives are carried out
  • Preparing the QHSE documentation requested during project prequalification and bid development phases;
  • Be able to build strong relationships between the construction team and the QHSE team
  • During the bid study phase, supporting the Bidding Unit and Group HR & Organization to define how Operational Units are to be organized in QHSE terms, and finalizing this during the start-up phase;
  • Carrying out Audits and supporting Operational Unit HSE Managers to investigate significant accidents.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills in English
  • 10-years' experience in roles with responsibility involving QHSE management systems, in industrial companies or companies working on projects
  • Experience working in the transit / metro sector highly preferred
  • Previous experience as a QHSE Senior Manager or Director
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • IHSA COR
  • CRSP highly preferred
  • Knowledge of building techniques
  • Knowledge of work-related and engineering Risk Assessment techniques
  • Knowledge of statistics applied to safety and reporting processes
  • Knowledge of accident Investigation techniques (i.e. Tap Root)
