Position Description
The Coordinator, Conferences and Events is an intermediate level position within Pace Group and reports to our Managers, Conferences and Events, and ultimately to the General Manager.
This position supports external communications and various events with a focus on event support for a wide range of clients who come to Pace Group for conference and event management services.
Over our many years as a leading event management provider, assignments have included literally any kind of event from conferences for business, government and associations - to public festivals, wintertime public events, fundraising events, media events and more.
The variety of assignments Pace Group takes on makes this position both challenging and rewarding. Most often, there is a public affairs component to the events we plan.
The successful candidate will work in coordination with Pace Group’s clients who often arrange these events to inform, educate or interact with the public directly.
Qualifications
- University or post-secondary degree in a related field
- 2-3 years of event experience in an agency or business environment
- Experience working with online registration or data management systems an asset
- Computer and web-based technology experience an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, hardworking, mature, positive
- Excellent communications, interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize a multi-task workload
- Ability to take initiative, exercise tact and discretion
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others in a team situation
- Flexible and adaptable to constantly shifting situations and priorities
- Committed to meeting tight deadlines
