About us
The First Nations Health Authority is a diverse and transformational health organization of professional, innovative, and dedicated team members and leaders.
The first of its kind in Canada, FNHA works as a health-and-wellness partner with BC First Nations to support self-determination and decision-making to improve health outcomes.
This innovative Indigenous-centered program will provide Indigenous - First Nations, Inuit and Métis students and new graduates with invaluable work experience to develop professional skills at the FNHA and to gain exposure in First Nations health care.
Our goal is to match a student’s education, skills, and career goals to the various needs of the FNHA and First Nations.
Title : Indigenous Student Program
Contract : 4 Months (Cohorts run : January to April, May to August, and September to December)
Hours : 37.5 Hours, Monday Friday (Core hours 9am -3pm)
Location : Various Locations, B.C.
About you
To be Eligible in this program you will have / be
- Indigenous - First Nations, Inuit or Métis students or new graduates
- Reside in British Columbia during the program
- Recent high-school graduate, enrollment in a post-secondary school, or recent graduate from a post-secondary institute.
Open to co-op or practicum students.
You may have an interest in; Human Resources, Finance, Health Benefits, Nursing, Project / Admin Support, and Information Technology.

Leading with culture, all FNHA employees complete San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. We support our family to be leaders in wellness and all staff members develop a yearly wellness plan as part of their performance partnership and goal setting.
As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021.
We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
