S2425-13 Educational Assistants - Aurora Middle School

We are seeking multiple full time (1.0 fte) positions commencing at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. These assignments involve assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs.

These positions require a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.

Aurora Middle School is located in the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 325 students in grades 4 to 8. Our school prides itself on being a caring, respectful, and safe school.

Preference will be given to applicants who have :

Post-Secondary training and / or experience as an Educational Assistant

Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies

Experience working one-on-one and / or in group settings

Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers

Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies

Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs

Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training and skills that would be an asset include :

Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and / or rehabilitation

SIVA and / or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
