Seeking a Chef for a full-time seasonal role at a remote wilderness lodge located at Chilko Lake, BC, Canada. If you have a passion for cooking, enjoy interacting with people, and thrive in outdoor environments, this opportunity is for you.
Our lodge specializes in fly fishing, horseback riding, and wildlife photography, catering to 14 guests with a team of 10 staff members.
As the Chef, you'll work in our small, open kitchen, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and sanitized at all times. Your role is pivotal in delivering hot, delicious, and beautifully prepared dishes promptly to our guests.
We operate on a family-style dining concept, fostering a warm and communal atmosphere.
Your interpersonal skills are crucial, as you'll interact closely with both guests and staff. A friendly and engaging personality is a must, as you'll be representing the heart of the lodge the kitchen.
Prior experience in a similar setting, such as a wilderness lodge, is advantageous. Additionally, having hobbies like hiking, fly fishing, or horseback riding can contribute to a balanced work-life dynamic, enhancing job satisfaction.
This position is physically demanding, requiring you to be in good physical condition and capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
Knowledge of gardening is a plus, as we maintain a small garden for herbs and lettuces.
