- Generous paid time off This role is a hybrid work-from-home position. Candidates must be available to travel during the week to the Collingwood, Ontario office located at 115 Hurontario Street for critical meetings as required.
Your primary responsibilities will include :
- Maintaining the bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, primarily using QuickBooks Online as well as several other common bookkeeping software
- Producing month-end financial statements and other reports as required by the client
- Preparing payroll runs and remittances for the client
- Preparing and filing sales tax reports for the client
- Answering questions posed by the clients related to their bookkeeping
- Assisting management with the onboarding of new clients to ensure seamless integration into our systems and workflow
A successful candidate will have :
- A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role
- Proven technical abilities in maintaining monthly bookkeeping
- Ability and willingness to adopt new technology relevant to the bookkeeping space
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks online, as well as various other bookkeeping software (i.e. QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, Xero)
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role
- A strong work ethic, and thrive on challenges
- Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation to work independently in a high-volume work environment.
- Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
- A passion for client service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to continually expand one’s professional skill set, learn on the job, take on additional responsibilities as required and respond to and thrive in a dynamic work environment
- Candidates must be flexible to work overtime during peak business periods any overtime worked will be paid or recorded as in-lieu time to be taken at a later date
