As a key member of the Production team, you will maintain high manufacturing efficiencies while delivering a quality product in a safe and clean environment.
As a Licensed Millwright, you will :
- Respond to manufacturing machinery problems, troubleshoot and diagnose problems and make repairs as necessary
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Service the mechanical requirements of the Packaging department. This includes the setup, repair and preventative maintenance of the equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and related repairs on plant equipment
- Assist in the preparation of packaging line changeovers by :
- a. Providing assistance in planning and establishing timelines for changeovers;
- b. Reviewing tooling needs prior to changeovers;
- c. Ensuring change parts are available and in good condition, as well as stored in a sanitary manner;
d. Advising packaging Team Leaders of potential areas for concern prior to changeover.
- Facilitate efficient line set-up and pre-run inspection by :
- a. Providing consultation and assistance to packaging staff on an as needed basis during changeovers;
b. Reviewing mechanical condition of line prior to startup.
c. Assisting packaging personnel in test running all components of the line.
- Facilitate efficient line operation by :
- a. Providing training, consultation and assistance to packaging staff on an as needed basis during line operation;
b. Reviewing ongoing packaging machine downtime and participating in corrective action as required.
c. Work as a team with the packaging staff to help trouble shoot and resolve mechanical problems as required by the maintenance Manager
Qualifications :
- 433A Certificate
- 1-3 years as a certified 433A mechanic preferred
- Basic math and writing skills
- Experience in high-speed packaging equipment, fillers, cappers, labellers, coders, conveyors, and parts fabrication an asset.
Should possess competent Mig and Tig welding skills, lathe and Mill operation.
- Troubleshooting skills
- Works well in a team setting as well as the ability to work independently
