Construction Project Manager - Commercial Projects
Taylor Ryan is working with a long term client who has been in the Vancouver construction industry for over 30 years. We are seeking a Project Manager that has proven track record of managing a commercial new build or tenant improvement projects in the range of $10-50M.
This role would be well suited for someone with a relevant educational history in Construction Management or Architectural Building Technology with previous experience working with general contractors.
Responsibilities :
- Plan and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard of quality.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that they adhere to project specifications and timelines.
- Work closely with the design team to ensure that all plans and specifications are accurate and meet the project requirements.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, and ensure that they are delivered to site on time and in good condition.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage project risks and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project documentation and ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in the commercial and / or institutional industry
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Familiarity with construction project management software and tools.
