Project Management Director, High Power UPS

The Project Management Director for High Power UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) plays a critical role in overseeing and managing projects related to the development, implementation, sourcing, manufacturing, and maintenance of high-power UPS systems.

This position requires a seasoned project management professional with a strong background in electrical engineering, power conversion, STS and proven leadership skills.

This role is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects from initiation to completion, meeting strict deadlines, and delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Project Planning and Execution

• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements;
• Execute project plans, monitor progress, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and external vendors.

Technical Expertise

• Possess a deep understanding of high-power UPS systems, electrical engineering principles, and relevant industry standards;
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, addressing challenges and ensuring technical specifications are met;
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment;
• Effectively communicate project objectives, expectations, and updates to team members and stakeholders.

Risk Management

• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies;
• Implement risk management processes to proactively address issues and ensure project success.

Stakeholder Communication

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies;
• Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Budget Management

• Develop and manage project budgets
• Control expenditures, and take appropriate measures to ensure that the overall business plan is achieved

Quality Assurance & Safety

• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-performance UPS systems;
• Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards;
• Develop and promote a culture of prevention across the project team;
• Assess risks at the earliest stage and implement the appropriate means of prevention;
• Update, inform and apply safety guidelines.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills :

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on high-power UPS systems or related technologies;
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field;
• PMP certification is highly desirable;
• Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget;
• Proven experience in project management, particularly in the field of high-power UPS systems;
• Strong technical background in electrical engineering with an emphasis on power systems;
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations;
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively;
• Successfully cultivated and managed strong relationships with key market stakeholders;
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and networking / collaboration abilities;
• Focused on the achievement of strategic goals; consistently meets or exceeds targets;
• Manages risks; anticipates and communicates in advance any potential issues and their impact.

Working Conditions :

• Individual can be based in US or in Canada;
• Must possess and maintain an unrestricted valid driver’s license;
• Ability and availability to travel to international destinations;
• Valid passport for international travels.
