Job description
Project Manager's Main Duties and Responsibilities include :
- Oversees total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
- Responsible for overall project performance and reporting in areas including, but not limited to safety, cost / budget, schedule, quality and project status
- Training and mentoring project team to develop their skills in construction management.
- Coordinate the transfer of baseline plans to project execution team as won business moves to execution
- Identify and obtain approvals due to changes of scope, budget or construction schedule.
- Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment, and quality control
- Conducts site tours, including safety inspections
- Lead by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
- Mentors, coaches, supervises and assesses performance of direct reports and other team members
- Oversees project closeout
Requirements
- 6-10 years of construction management experience
- Post-secondary diploma in a construction related discipline or engineering.
- experience in overseeing commercial, institutional, and industrial projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work within a team.
- Experience with leading, supporting, and managing project team and providing regular feedback on performance.
- Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, potential problems, and time-lines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and MS Project.
