The Scrum Master contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Digitization, Smart Automation team in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The successful candidate is responsible for driving team effectiveness, supporting the development team, removing roadblocks, and evolving the end-to-end product while helping the teams build up compliant agile practice, be flexible and leading using hybrid methodology.
The Scrum Master is a results-oriented individual who has proven abilities as a senior Technical person, leading medium-to-large initiatives within the risk business domain.
Some of the Key Accountabilities include :
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Incumbent will work across 4-5 robotic RPA development labs depending on level of complexity and involvement required
- Incumbent will also project manage larger technology updates impacting multiple bots.
- This position requires the incumbent to be resilient, flexible and dynamic, resourceful and self-sufficient, ready to work non-standard work hours
- Incumbent must have the ability to balance competing or conflicting goals of various departments / stakeholders, requiring a mature, diplomatic approach
- As a Scrum Master you will ensure the team enacts the agile principles, values and framework and provide support to teams using a servant leadership style
- Coach the development / lab team and help lead and instill core agile values and "agile mindset"
- Identify, manage, and help mitigate issues and risks, with particular emphasis on timely removal of impediments for the team and / or directing obstacles to appropriate owners for quick resolution
- Develop strong partnership with the Product Owner to gain strong understanding of objectives, sustain open dialogue to manage product backlog efficiently
- Communicate and present effectively exercising strong verbal and written communication skills across diverse audiences within and outside of the development team (Stakeholders, Executives), acting as a champion of the agile methodology
- Contribute to building organizational capability and expertise on agile adoption by partnering with Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach and other agile teams to share findings, best practices and resources to help mature the organization's agility.
What You Will Bring to Succeed
- Working knowledge of robotics (RPA) in the Financial Services is an asset
- Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, business, Information sciences or other related field
- 7-9 years of Information Technology and / or Business Administration experience
- Understanding of core banking processes and systems / Experience in Financial Services Industry
- PMP and / or Scrum Master Certification (CSM) an asset
- 5+ years Scrum Master experience leading scrum teams
- 3+ years Project / Program Management experience with a strong understanding of agile project management principles and practices
- Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values and procedures
- Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
- Highly organized individual with the ability to coordinate across teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
- Proficient in MS Suite (Project, Power Point, Excel)
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset
