We are looking for a Project Manager to work within Infrastructure Services and plan, execute, and successfully implement large and complex projects, within strict deadlines and budgets. This includes acquiring resources, coordinating team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager, in conjunction with application development and / or the business stakeholder, will also define the project’s technical requirements and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Direct and manage infrastructure-related projects from beginning to end
  • Define project scope, objectives and deliverables that support business and technical requirements in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Develop detailed project and resource plans and associated communications documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and hire additional staff or consultants as necessary
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones, while also tracking project milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 5 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and / or technology
  • Project Management Certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in managing project teams
  • Detailed knowledge across a broad range of technology with a comprehensive understanding of how the technology operates in a complex environment
  • Experience with working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Familiar with infrastructure technology, such as AWS, Databases, Middleware, Unix, Windows hardware and software, etc.
  • Competent and proficient understanding of network technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to handle shifting priorities, demands and timelines by using analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Demonstrated ability to be tenacious and assertive but also able to persuade, encourage, and motivate team members and stakeholders within a customer service environment
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • Ability to proactively review trends in project activity and forecast any potential issues and risks to the project delivery dates
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with MS Project and Office 365
  • Proficient at creating and maintaining project documentation
  • Excellent organization skills
