Shop Assistant
DEPARTMENT : Warehouse REPORTS TO : Shop Manager Overall Responsibilities :
- Assisting trucking (logistics, driver booking, maintenance).
- Regular 5-ton driving responsibilities (deliveries and pickups of Riggit and sub rental gear from various locations).
- Assist shipping and receiving.
- Truck loading and unloading.
- Forklift driving in warehouse area.
- Cleaning and maintaining all Riggit rental equipment.
- Hoist maintenance (training / certification provided).
- Prep and de-prep of all Riggit rental equipment.
- Assist inventory tracking and recording.
- Maintaining shop physical space organization.
- Assist general building maintenance and cleaning.
- Special projects.
- Overtime opportunities are common with evening and weekend drives.
Qualifications :
- Experience in a warehouse environment.
- Shipping and receiving experience an asset.
- Clean driver’s abstract (must be provided).
- Airbrake endorsement an asset.
- Experience with Excel and inventory tracking software.
- High school diploma or GED.
- PC and Mac user interface experience.
- Forklift certification.
- 5 ton straight truck driver with Airbrake endorsement.
Terms of employment :
- Permanent Full Time.
- 40 hours per week.
- Wage range : $50,000-$60,000 / yr to start commensurate with experience.
- Benefits package after 3 month probationary period, 6 month review then annually after that.
- Commencing immediately.
