- Summer Friday's: Off at 1:00 pm from May to August.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Field Execution & Safety Culture
- Active Field Presence: Act as the primary "boots on the ground" contact, implementing safety policies and providing practical feedback to management to keep rules relevant to field conditions.
- Inspections & Toolbox Talks: Conduct frequent, hands-on site inspections and lead engaging Safety Talks to keep internal crews compliant and aware of hazards.
- Field Coaching: Provide direct training to internal crews on hazard recognition, emergency response, and proper PPE usage.
- Multi-Division Oversight: Actively monitor safety standards across specialized divisions, managing distinct risks like trenching (Excavation) and arc flash (Electrical).
- Onboarding: Deliver safety orientations for all new hires before they start field work.
Administration, Compliance & Audits
- WCB Coordination: Partner with the Construction Administrator on WCB claims, worker clearance certificates, and return-to-work programs.
- Documentation Management: Oversee and submit all required documentation (SSSPs, FLHAs, training records) to General Contractors with 100% deadline compliance.
- Incident Investigations: Lead investigations for accidents or near-misses, preparing detailed reports that identify root causes and practical corrective actions.
- COR™ Audit Readiness: Maintain accurate, real-time records of all training and inspections to ensure the company is always prepared for COR™ or provincial regulatory audits.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current on Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
Qualifications We Are Looking For
- Experience: Proven track record in construction safety coordination, specifically within residential multifamily developments or commercial construction.
