About this team

People Enablement Technology team is responsible for all people and culture systems including workforce management, people data and analytics, learning and development as well as talent and acquisition technology.

This is a gloval team, primarily out of Seattle, WA and Vancouver Canada and delivers on the people and culture technology roadmap for the entire organization.

In this specific role the Technical Project Manager will :

  • Manage to completion an in-flight project to deliver and cutover to a new cloud infrastructure platform for the People Enablement Technology organization as part of the larger enterprise initiative to retire a legacy on-prem system and data center.
  • Plan and manage delivery of the post-launch roadmap which includes enhancements and improvements to the new cloud platform.
  • Lead a project team of technical resources including Architects, Engineers, and QA Analysts alongside QA and Engineering leads on the team.
  • Work with multiple technology stakeholder groups to align on timelines, risks, dependencies, and priorities for deployment of new builds and decommissioning of legacy integrations.
  • Work closely with the PET portfolio leadership team (Program Manager, Porfolio Manager, and Technology Manager) and the Enterprise Program leading the overall initiative to report on progress, issues, and risks.
  • Manage project financials and resource plans with high precision and accountability.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

Technical Project Manager works closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to create and manage projects that solve internal business problems and bring experiences to life for our guests.

They work closely with business stakeholders and Technology teams to ensure project plans are in place and managed. The project manager is organized, curious, great at facilitation and knows how to get the right people involved at any given time to solve problems.

They value managing risks and dependencies to ensure our teams are working in the most optimal way to deliver value as quickly as possible.

A project manager values various delivery methodologies ranging from waterfall to Kanban to Scrum.

  • Plan, manage, monitor, and close / handover to operations for large projects with complex scope, multiple work streams and interdependencies.
  • Effectively manage and report on risks and mitigation, scope, budget and timelines
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet timeline and business objectives.
  • Ensure all project / program tasks are clearly understood, assigned and tracked.
  • Complete all project documentation required based on our PMO process.
  • Engage in and communicate ideas for supporting the continuous improvement of PMO processes with a positive and constructive attitude and for developing this attitude in others.
  • Ability to manage in both Agile and Waterfall environments.

Qualifications

Must have skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science / engineering or business
  • PMP and or Scrum certification considered an asset
  • 5+ years of project management / industry work experience
  • Familiarity with IT SDLC processes (waterfall and agile) and compliance requirements such as PCI & SOX
  • Ability to manage project budgets including capital costs, expense costs, and forecasting
  • Capacity to plan resource capacity and identify risks and constraints
  • Strong leadership, sound judgement, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Aptitude to learn and manage change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully manage teams with competing priorities within deadlines in a complex and rapidly evolving organization.
  • Skill in supporting other Project Managers through feedback, coaching, and mentorship
