Lead Construction Estimator
Role Description
Reporting to the Estimating Supervisor within the Design and Engineering Department, the Lead Construction Estimator will carefully review assigned plans for multi-unit Residential and Commercial projects to create accurate and thorough quantity takeoffs.
As a Senior Team Member, the Lead Construction Estimator will also support the Supervisor with project coordination, and by overseeing, monitoring, and approving the work of the Estimating Team.

Your responsibilities will include :
- Prepare complete cost estimates for multi-unit Residential and Commercial projects, including quantity take-offs for all disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical & electrical) from construction documentation;
- Accurately prepare and interpret project specifications;
- Manage and track RFQ’s to various suppliers and subcontractors for ongoing projects;
- Coordinate the purchasing of materials in preparation for project kick-off;
- Analyze previous project costing information and historical data;
- Assist with project coordination activities;
- Process change orders accurately and efficiently;
- Collaborate with other departments to gather information and data for projects;
- Execute projects in accordance with company and client guidelines and standards.
Your Qualifications :

Your qualifications include :
- 5+ years of relevant estimating experience in the ICI construction industry;
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (i.e., Engineering), or a combination of education and relevant industry experience;
- Knowledge of the Canadian National Building Code (Part 3 and 9);
- Proficiency in AutoCAD would be considered an asset;
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Planswift, Timerbline and / or BlueBeam;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel;
- Excellent working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents;
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, under tight timelines, in a fast-paced environment;
- Effective problem-solving skills;
- Great communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively interact with the team and suppliers.
