We are looking for a Manager, Business insights who will be responsible for providing high quality, actionable insights, and analytics to see opportunities that will improve the performance of Personal Insurance.
This role is partnered with the Financial Performance and Analytics team, you will be responsible for providing insights and explanations for multiple lines of business and multiple provinces / national in explanation of Aviva’s Personal Insurance portfolio.
Currently this role does not have any direct reporting responsibilities. Level of position dependent on Prior experience, qualifications, and candidate.

What you'll do :
Build strong relationships of trust and mutual respect with colleagues and collaborate closely with them.
Foster an environment of continuous engagement with distribution, actuarial, pricing, analytics, underwriting, operations, marketing, communications, claims, IT, finance, and others.
Craft go-to-market strategies and messaging with distribution when pricing and / or product changes are likely to affect brokers and / or customers.
Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of the business.
Analyze financial / sales results to identify root cause and implement initiatives to drive positive performance.
Monitor company, industry, economic and legislative developments and recommend changes in strategies or procedures as necessary.
Collaborates with internal and external partners to define and drive business intelligence and analytics, leading to insights which will drive performance improvement.
Acquires clear understanding of business needs and strategy with ability to communicate and complete requirements.
Sets data and reporting management design, monitoring, and governance.
Initiates and maintains roadmaps for data management and business intelligence strategy by keeping current with changes happening internally and externally.
Develop, lead, and manage various key projects and assignments as required, including business case development, strategic oversight, and management.
Support the wider Business Insights team providing coaching and mentorship to junior members and helping build and maintain analytical skills across the team.
What you'll bring :
University degree or equivalent experience in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years industrial experience in BI Analytics or Reporting
Experience working in the P+C insurance industry, with excellent understanding of personal insurance.
Proven ability to adopt and lead change, be highly adaptable and flexible, decisive and display excellent judgment.
Has effectively worked within a matrix & sophisticated environment.
Outstanding analytical skills with an unflagging desire to probe, question, validate and challenge to ensure accurate and relevant performance indicators are being reported and measured
Strong business knowledge and technical skills to advise and recommend optimal, relevant, and accurate information to the business for decision making purposes.
Leadership skills with ability to lead, empower, challenge, and influence cross functional teams and deliver outstanding results.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
Strong customer focus and collaborator management skills.
Able to champion change with the ability and appetite to drive optimization in processes and technology.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
