As a Senior ESG Advisor, you will support our mid-size business and corporate clients with their needs and goals in reducing their carbon footprint.

Your role :

Use your expertise to help build a portfolio based on sustainable financing strategies to support all our existing and prospective clients in achieving their sustainability objectives

Contribute to ESG and sustainable finance marketing efforts by supporting Account Managers in their meetings with clients and taking charge of mandates

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to undertake further sustainable finance initiatives and explore opportunities for developing products and providing advice

Help develop a frame of reference for the advancement of financial products (green, social, sustainable, transition, sustainability-related) for a broad spectrum of commercial and public sector clients

Advise the organization and clients on changes in ESG trends, including political and regulatory developments (transition, ESG targets, taxonomies, legislation, ICMA principles)

Maintain a deep understanding of developments in the global sustainable finance market (market trends, financial product development, structuring)

Provide insightful leadership to clients and internal stakeholders, e.g., through conferences, training, recommendations and analyses aligned with the Bank’s cross-sector positions

Collaborate with Account Managers, advise them and mentor them to help them with their business development efforts related to sustainable financing

You will report to the Senior Manager - Corporate ESG Delivery Strategy and work with a team of professionals surrounded by an ecosystem of ESG specialists.

This new role has been created to support the practice and implementation of the ESG strategy in line with the Bank’s priorities.

With support from the Account Managers, you will share responsibility for creating new business opportunities and successfully carrying out ESG mandates for Commercial Banking sector clients.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders, namely Financial Markets, Risk Management, Treasury and the Commercial Banking sales force leaders of various levels, to develop sustainable finance solutions and initiatives and offer comprehensive ESG solutions.

Basic requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, natural science and environmental studies or sustainable development and between 5 and 7 years of relevant industry experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in ESG or sustainable finance / certificates and programs in sustainable development : SASB, GRI, SIPC, ICMA or equivalent an asset

Master’s degree in finance, sustainable development or environmental sciences, or MBA or other professional designation; CFA, CA, CAIA an asset.

Experience working with commercial clients in an advisory capacity

Solid understanding of issues related to ESG and sustainable finance

Leadership and strong ability to influence and bring people together

Sound communication and presentation skills

Feel at ease in a complex and fast-paced environment

Languages :

  • Language : English
  • Language : French

Reason to require this language : you will need to serve clients who speak a language other than French regularly.
