The Old Strathcona Youth Society is a non-profit low-barrier drop-in center that supports unhoused and vulnerable youth between the ages of 14 and 24. Supporting Edmonton youth for the past 25 years, OSYS provides non-judgmental, trauma-informed access to basic needs items,servicesand referrals.Taking a relationship-based approach to providing care, the OSYS team believes that healthy communities start with healthy, meaningful connections.With this in mind, OSYSis committed to ensuring that the center is a place where youth feel safe and supported.

ROLE : The Fund Development Coordinator is a key member of the OSYS team, responsible for leading efforts to secure,maintain, and expand the resources that sustain OSYSs operations and programming. The Fund Development Coordinator oversees every level of OSYSs fund development program, including the acquisition and management of grants, private donations, corporate sponsorships, endowment funding, and fundraising events.

Grant Writing & Reporting :Identifygrant prospects and opportunitiesMonitor granting cycles, calendars, and application deadlinesWritepersuasive and competitiveapplications, proposals, and gather supportive materialsTrack grant deliverables and outcomes, create comprehensive grant reports as necessaryEnsureaccuratesubmissions and adherence to reporting and proposal deadlinesDonor Engagement & DevelopmentCollaborate with the team to create a strategic planfor donor retention and base growthPursue corporate sponsorshipsand potential major gift contributorsPromote monthly giving to one-time donors and re-engage lapsed donorsOversee all stages of the non-profit donor cycleRespond promptly and professionally to donor inquiriesTrack and manage all donationsMarketing & Communications SupportCollaborate with staff on creating fundraising and promotional materials to be used online and at presentationsSupport with the cultivation of the OSYS brand identity in line with our mission, vision, and valuesto aid in storytelling effortsManage donor and community-facing communications, including social media posts, website copy,e- blasts,andmonthlynewslettersLead donor recognition efforts through media acknowledgement, publicannouncements,social mediaposts, andprovidingimpact updatesAdministrative DutiesAdhere to confidentiality and data tracking best practicesMaintain and updateaccuratedonor and grant recordsAid in monthly financial data trackingand reportingStrategize efficient record and data keepingsystemsParticipate in long and short-term budgetingGENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES :
Activelyfacilitate, participate in, and promoteprofessional team functioning through participation in professional development, team debriefs, and self-evaluation.Participates in fundraising activities as a representative and advocate for OSYS.QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Post-secondary education in a discipline relevant to this work or equivalent experience.
Experience and Qualities :
Demonstrated success securing and managing government, foundation, and corporategrants.Knowledgeof the local, provincial, and federal funding landscapeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCreative problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills with an attention to detailProven ability to meet deadlines and project targetsExperiencewithdonor relations and development in a non-profit environmentSelf-starter with the ability to work autonomously and pursue self-directed initiativesDemonstrated professionalism in all communications and conductProject management experience is considered a strong assetProficiencyinMS Office SuiteFamiliarity with Monday and Canva is an assetRecord Checks & Transportation Requirements
