About the team

Wealthsimple’s product teams are responsible for shipping our award-winning products used by millions of Canadians. Our ambition is to help everyone achieve financial freedom by building world-class products that give Canadians better ways to invest, save, spend, and even file their taxes.

Our product teams own all aspects of client experience, including the underlying services and infrastructure that enable core experiences like onboarding, funding, data reliability and fraud prevention.

We are early in our journey and are looking for passionate product managers to help us develop and execute strategies to disrupt finance services in Canada.

In this role, you will :

• Set an ambitious product vision for your product domain
• Oversee the planning, development, and launch of new product experiences that continuously raise the bar on quality, performance, and ambition.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, and stakeholders across the business
• Break down complex, behind-the-scenes projects into discrete phases that deliver value to clients and the business incrementally.
• Lead the planning, prioritization, development, and launch of products and features
• Establish and own a variety of metrics related to performance and client outcomes
• Help elevate the Product Management practice at Wealthsimple and create an inclusive and supportive team culture.
• Talk directly to customers to uncover problems, identify unmet needs, and validate potential solutions.
• Own key business outcomes and effectively communicate progress and results to R+D leadership

Skills we are looking for :

• 7+ year track record of building and shipping products that customers love.
• Experience leading product teams to delivery large, complex cross-functional projects and manage multiple dependencies.
• A shipping mentality - a proven track-record of making trade-offs in scope to deliver impact, test hypothesis and establish strong client feedback loops, quickly.
• Experience leading qualitative and quantitative research, including large-scale client research, to uncover insights and shape the direction of product roadmaps.
• Strong bias to action and the ability to set the tone for teams and stakeholders to deliver impact in a fast-paced environment.
• Enough technical know-how to talk with engineers about architecture and technical. considerations that impact a product and a desire to learn what you don’t know to help drive decision-making.
• Curiosity and a thirst for learning. You dig deep into any problem you encounter until you’ve cracked the nut on what’s really important.

• Proven ability to turn complex problems into simple experiences.
• Strong understanding of how design, product and engineering can work together to ship high quality experiences quickly and at scale.
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas and project direction to internal teams and stakeholders.

• Experience working at a high-growth startup or as an entrepreneur
• A deep interest and passion for personal finance and how we might build simpler, more accessible services for everyone.
