Introduction

Our Capital Markets Data team is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong data background to support a portfolio of high-profile initiatives across Capital Markets. This is a technical BA role that combines business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with business users, data consumers, and technology teams to gather requirements, analyze complex datasets, support reporting initiatives, and deliver solutions that drive business value. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data and business, can navigate ambiguity, and possesses strong Capital Markets domain expertise.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8 years of Business Analysis experience within Financial Services or Capital Markets.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries, analyze large datasets, and investigate data issues.
• Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments with limited documentation.
• Experience supporting reporting, data, or analytics initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Capital Markets back-office experience.
• Exposure to P&L reporting, accounting, operations, or finance functions.
• Strong understanding of collateral data and collateral management processes.
• Experience working with legacy systems and complex data environments.
• Familiarity with data lineage, reconciliation, and reporting frameworks.
• Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects and delivery streams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across Capital Markets.
• Work directly with business users to understand reporting needs, data challenges, and enhancement requests.
• Write and execute SQL queries to extract, analyze, validate, and reconcile data.
• Perform data analysis across multiple platforms and datasets to support business decision-making.
• Reverse engineer existing processes, reports, and data logic when documentation is limited or unavailable.
• Translate business requirements into clear data and reporting solutions.
• Conduct gap analysis and recommend improvements to existing processes and reporting capabilities.
• Partner with technology teams to support project delivery and implementation activities.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
